# EcoMailbox

> Consumer mailbox for receiving EcoLetters, account communications, and resolution messages.

## Developer Rule

The EcoMailbox is the consumer's secure digital mailbox for receiving EcoLetters and CFPB Reg F communications matching the consumer's EcoAddress.
EcoAddress Match:

* Last Name
* Date of Birth
* Last 4 SSN
  When a participating organization creates an EcoLetter or CFPB Reg F communication, YouNegotiate matches the communication to the consumer's EcoAddress and delivers it to the consumer's EcoMailbox.
  The EcoMailbox serves as the official digital delivery destination for communications associated with the consumer's EcoAddress.

## EcoMailbox Delivery Rule

When a participating organization creates an EcoLetter or CFPB Reg F communication, YouNegotiate delivers the communication to the matching consumer EcoAddress.
Delivered communications appear in the consumer's EcoMailbox.
Consumers receive notifications according to their Communication Profile settings.
If no Communication Profile exists, notifications may be delivered using the email address and/or mobile phone number associated with the account.

### Purpose:

Provide secure digital delivery of communications associated with the consumer's EcoAddress.

## Inbox

The EcoMailbox displays all EcoLetters and CFPB Reg F communications delivered to the consumer's EcoAddress.
Consumers may:

* View Messages
* Read Messages
* Review Message History

### Purpose:

Provide a centralized digital mailbox for secure financial communications.

## Unread Message Indicators

The EcoMailbox displays unread message counts.
When a new communication is delivered:

* Unread count increases
* Consumer notification is generated
  When a communication is opened:
* Message status changes to Read
* Unread count decreases

### Purpose:

Provide visibility into new EcoMailbox activity.

## Message Status

Messages must display:

* Unread Status
* Read Status
  Unread messages must be visually distinguishable from read messages.

### Purpose:

Allow consumers to quickly identify new communications.

## Key Rule

The EcoMailbox is the official digital delivery destination for EcoLetters and CFPB Reg F communications associated with the consumer's EcoAddress.
Only communications matching the consumer's EcoAddress may be displayed within the EcoMailbox.

## Final Developer Rule

Participating organizations create communications.
YouNegotiate manages EcoAddress matching, delivery, notifications, read status, unread status, and presentation within the EcoMailbox.
The EcoMailbox serves as the secure digital delivery channel for communications associated with the consumer's EcoAddress.
