# EcoPortal Setup

> Setup steps that prepare a consumer profile for EcoPortal access and account resolution.

## Developer Rule

EcoPortal Setup is completed immediately after EcoPortal Access and before the consumer can access any EcoPortal functionality.
The purpose of EcoPortal Setup is to establish the consumer's master communication profile, billing profile, and personalization settings.
The Communication Profile becomes the default notification and communication compliance profile for all future account activity matched to the consumer's EcoAddress.
The Billing Profile becomes the default billing profile used to prepopulate future payment forms and payment transactions throughout the EcoPortal.
Consumers must complete EcoPortal Setup before accessing the Resolution Dashboard or any other EcoPortal feature.

## Communication Profile Setup

Consumers select how they want to receive notifications and reminders.
Available Methods:

* SMS Notifications
* Email Notifications
* SMS and Email Notifications

### Purpose:

Creates the consumer's Master Communication Profile.
All account activity matched to the consumer's EcoAddress automatically defaults to this profile.
YouNegotiate manages all automated notifications on behalf of participating creditors, agencies, law firms, and service providers.

* Counter Offers
* Notices
* Agreements
* Payment Reminders
* Payment Confirmations
* EcoMailbox Messages
* Resolution Activity Updates
  If the consumer updates their Communication Profile, future notifications automatically follow the updated settings.

## Billing Profile Setup

Consumers enter:

* First Name
* Billing Address

### Purpose:

Creates the consumer's default billing profile.
The Billing Profile is used to prepopulate payment forms throughout the EcoPortal, including BillPay Wallet transactions, settlement payments, payment plans, and future payment activity.
This reduces repeated data entry and improves payment completion rates.

## Personal Preferences Setup

Consumers may personalize their EcoPortal experience.

### Options:

* Consumer Photo
* Consumer Logo (Optional)
* Portal Color Preferences

### Purpose:

Provides a personalized consumer experience.
Personalization settings do not affect EcoAddress matching, communications, compliance settings, or payment activity.

## EcoPortal Activation

After completing:

* Communication Profile Setup
* Billing Profile Setup
* Personal Preferences Setup
  the EcoPortal becomes fully activated.
  The consumer is redirected to the Resolution Dashboard.

## Key Rule

Consumers may not access any EcoPortal feature until EcoPortal Setup has been completed.

* My EcoProfile

## Final Developer Rule

The Communication Profile serves as the master notification and communication compliance profile for all activity matched to the consumer's EcoAddress.
The Billing Profile serves as the default billing profile for all future payment activity.
EcoPortal Setup must be completed before access to any EcoPortal functionality is granted.
