# Company Profile Updates

> Manage creditor company information, operating details, and verified ECO Address information.

## Purpose

Allows authorized creditor users to maintain company profile information while protecting verified business identity data used throughout the platform.

## Quick Summary

* The company profile contains both editable and non-editable information.
* Verified company identity information becomes the creditor's permanent ECO Address.
* The ECO Address is used to route consumer Notice Responses and communications to the correct creditor.
* Company identity information is validated during onboarding using Federal TIN verification.
* Hours of operation, contacts, and other business information may be updated after verification.

## Verified ECO Address

The creditor's ECO Address is established during business onboarding and serves as the creditor's permanent digital identity within the platform.

## ECO Address Fields

* Company Name
* Company Address
* Company Website URL
* Company Phone Number
* Federal Tax ID (TIN)

## Purpose

The ECO Address is used to:

* Identify the creditor throughout the platform
* Route Notice Responses to the correct creditor
* Match consumer-created creditor profiles
* Support compliance and audit requirements
* Maintain consistent creditor identity

## Key Rule

ECO Address identity fields cannot be edited after verification.

## Identity Verification

During business setup:

1. Company information is submitted.
2. Federal TIN is validated.
3. Business identity is verified through Middesk.
4. The ECO Address is established.
5. Verified identity information becomes locked.

## Key Rule

The Federal TIN may never be modified after verification.

## Editable Company Information

Authorized users may update:

* Hours of Operation
* Business Contacts
* Support Contacts
* Profile Image
* Business Description
* Operating Information
* Other non-verified profile information

## Real-World Example

ABC Collections changes its support hours from Eastern Time to Central Time.
The company updates:

* Timezone
* Business Hours
* Support Contact Information
  The ECO Address remains unchanged because the verified company identity has not changed.

## How It Should Work

* Allow authorized users to update editable company information.
* Maintain a permanent verified ECO Address.
* Preserve TIN verification status.
* Support profile image updates.
* Update displayed company information immediately after saving.
* Apply timezone updates throughout the portal.

## How It Should Not Work

* Allow changes to verified ECO Address fields.
* Allow changes to Federal TIN information.
* Allow updates to another creditor's company profile.
* Accept invalid profile image formats.
* Route Notice Responses using modified identity data.

## Developer Notes

* ECO Address data is a permanent identity record.
* Notice Response routing depends on ECO Address stability.
* Identity verification must remain tied to Middesk validation.
* Editable profile information must remain separate from verified identity information.
