# Membership Plan Selection

> Process for selecting and managing membership plans within the Creditor Portal.

## Purpose

Membership Plan Selection lets a creditor choose the plan that controls membership access, billing, and account limits.

## How It Should Work

* It should show available plans and the creditor's current plan context.
* It should prevent selecting a plan that cannot support the creditor's active account count.
* It should explain whether a change applies immediately or at the next billing cycle.
* It should connect selected plan changes to billing and activation rules.

## How It Should Not Work

* It should not downgrade a creditor below required account capacity.
* It should not switch plans without clear confirmation.
* It should not charge or schedule the wrong plan.
* It should not change another creditor's membership.

## Developer Notes

* Plan selection affects billing, account limits, activation, renewal, and over-limit behavior.
* Keep plan state and billing state synchronized.
