# Account Import & Processing

> Upload, validate, process, and prepare consumer account data required for account and offer delivery, payments, negotiations, and communications.

## Key Concept

Account import is the first operational step after completion of all required setup steps.
Account and offer delivery, negotiations, payments, and communications cannot begin until account data has been successfully uploaded, validated, and processed.

## Important CFPB Note

**Add Accounts + CFPB** generates CFPB Validation Letters during the import process.
Validation letters are generated only and are not automatically delivered.
Delivery occurs later through the Communications system using Secure EcoLetter campaigns.
