# CFPB Validation Letters

> CFPB Validation Letters are generated during account imports and delivered later through creditor-controlled communication workflows.

CFPB Validation Letters are generated during the **Add + CFPB** workflow.

Generation occurs during account processing, but delivery occurs through the Communications system.

## Key Rule

CFPB Validation Letters are generated automatically but are never delivered automatically.
Creditors must choose a delivery method.

## How It Should Work

* It should generate CFPB Validation Letters during eligible account import processing.
* It should keep generated letters available for later delivery decisions.
* It should require the creditor to choose how and when delivery occurs.

## How It Should Not Work

* It should not automatically deliver validation letters immediately after generation.
* It should not deliver letters to consumers who are opted out of the selected delivery method.
* It should not lose the link between the generated letter, consumer account, and creditor import.
