Purpose

Business Verification/KYB confirms that the creditor company is a valid business before sensitive billing, merchant, and consumer account workflows are enabled.

How It Should Work

  • It should collect the business details required for verification.
  • It should submit verification data to the approved verification provider.
  • It should show a clear pending, approved, or failed verification state.
  • It should keep verification results attached to the correct creditor company.

How It Should Not Work

  • It should not allow one creditor to view or reuse another creditor’s verification data.
  • It should not treat pending verification as approved.
  • It should not silently ignore failed verification responses.
  • It should not expose sensitive business identity data to unauthorized users.

Developer Notes

  • KYB state can affect membership activation, merchant onboarding, and payment readiness.
  • Preserve provider responses and status changes for audit and support review.
